Durango is often called the "Mountain Bike Capital of the World." There are many trails either in town or just a few minutes away. From Horse Gulch, to the Colorado Trail, to Hermosa Creek, some of the best singletrack trail riding anywhere is just beyond your doorstep. There's even plenty of double track and old logging and fire roads for those who just want to do some off road touring. One of my favorites is the Alpine Loop, 60 miles and two mountain passes through some of the most scenic land in the country.

Anybody who knows me, knows I wear out bikes fast. I average about 3,000 trail miles a year. The people at Hassle Free Sports always take care of me. Once I had a brand new wheel with a Chris King hub misadjusted that I had bought online from Stan's. I needed a special tool to fix it. I called every shop in town and nobody had one for sale (but most had one in their repair shop). Hassle Free didn't have one for sale either, but they offered to lend me their shop tool. No only did they lend me the tool, but when I came in they also fixed the hub at no charge. This is not unusual. Every time I go in there, they go out of their way to hook me up.
