ID is Creationism Summary: Intelligent Design is a disguise that creationism wears. It is a belief, not science.
After reading this article asserting that intelligent design is just evolution in disguise, a number of things occured to me. Clearly the author is a creationist, and intends to further his creationist agenda. Just as clearly, this article is an attempt to confuse non-creationists into accepting intelligent design, since, after all, it is roughly the equivalent of evolution. But, as is typical of creationist attempts to sound reasonable, it is a mess. First of all, people who want creation taught as science in schools are, in general, more ignorant and possibly stupider than the rest of us. The notion that creation is science is proof enough of that. This type of tactic might be very successful at impacting people like that. But those of us who understand the difference between science and religion, as well as the importance of keeping those two separate, are not likely to be duped by this little ruse. A note to the author: please, save the paper-thin, transparent, simplistic attempts to confuse your audience for your own kind, where they can have an impact. Remember: intelligent people understand reverse psychology and aren't nearly as susceptible to it as creationists. Second, the ideas are rambling and confused. There is mention of a limit to our understanding, beyond which events are simply attributed to God. In fact, evolution makes no such assumptions, and such an assumption is anti-science in the extreme. Within the scientific method is the implication that we always have more to learn. So while scientists (who are human) likely believe in God in a dazzling variety of ways, they could not very well be scientists if they were inclined to accept that everything they do not understand is simply beyond their scope and should be accepted as God's domain.
