The second law of thermodynamics states that closed systems tend towards
greater disorder (entropy) over time.
There are two parts to the creationist claim:
Evolutionist View
The second law doesn't totally disallow increased complexity. It
just specifies an overall tendency in a closed system for increased
entropy. The universe is expanding and the overall entropy is
increasing as specified by the second law. There are isolated
portions where entropy decreases (order increases), such as planets, and solar systems, but
overall, it is entropy increasing in accordance with the second law.
Localized areas of decreased entropy (increased order) are NOT
violations of the second law. The second law specifies that a
closed system as a whole decreases in order.
The Second Law of Thermodynamics refers to closed systems. The Earth is not a closed system. It is energized by the Sun, therefore the second law doesn't even apply. Hurricanes and storms are the result of energy added by the Sun. These form into highly-organized and complex systems. Clearly, systems can become more complex when energy is added. This of course doesn't prove evolution occurred, it just shows that systems can become more complex in an open system without violating the Second Law of Thermodynamics.
Anyone proposing this as proof against evolution either doesn't understand the Second Law of Thermodynamics or is intentionally misleading.

This is also known as the "Hopeful Monster" argument. Mutations
create organisms that less able to survive.
Evolutionist View
While it is true that most mutations are harmful, occasionally one is
beneficial. Evolution does not state, nor require, that all or
even most mutations are beneficial. Only that once in a while one
is. Beneficial mutations happen all the time with species adapting
to changing conditions in their environment. One of the classic
examples of this is the Nylon

Evolutionary anthropologists say that the Stone Age lasted for at
least 100,000 years, during which time the world population of
Neanderthal and Cro-Magnon men was roughly constant, between one and 10
million. During that time they buried their dead with artifacts.
Therefore, they would have buried at least four billion bodies.
Since buried bones should be able to last for much longer than 100,000
years, many of those four billion Stone Age skeletons and their
artifacts should still be around. So where are they? Only a
few thousand have been found. Clearly something is wrong with the
evolutionary thinking.
